Critz Auto Group has been serving the Savannah and Coastal Empire area for over 80 years. The company is the exclusive local dealer for Buick, GMC, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Sprinter Vans, specializing in new, used and certified pre-owned vehicles.

The Critz Auto Group legacy began over 80 years ago with the late H. Dale Critz, native of Little Rock, Arkansas.  Mr. Critz purchased what had been The Savannah Automobile Company, a Buick-Pontiac dealership doing business as Quality Motors, Inc. It was located at West Broad (Now MLK, Jr. Blvd.) at Bay Street until 1948, then moved to 4600 Montgomery Street and operated there until 1979. In 1980, Critz moved to its current location on Abercorn Street at Stephenson Avenue. Critz Auto Group completed a major, 10 million dollar expansion at the Abercorn location in 2013. The firm dealt exclusively with Buicks from 1940 until 1974. Dale C. Critz, Sr. joined the firm in 1957, after graduating from Duke University. In 1974 and 1976, Dale Critz, Sr. secured the BMW and Mercedes-Benz franchises respectively, and GMC joined Critz Auto Group in 1985. The Sprinter Commercial Van franchise was added in 2011.

In 1980, Dale Critz, Jr. followed in his father's footsteps after graduating from the University of Virginia. He also received an MBA from the University of Texas in 1985 and has served as General Manager since January 1989. Dale Critz, Jr. now serves as the President and CEO of Critz Auto Group.

For 80 years, the Critz family, Critz Auto Group and its employees have been committed to serving its community beyond selling and servicing vehicles. Because we love giving back to the people who have supported us for decades, we donate generously through volunteerism and financial donations. Our stewardship is centered in the communities in which we live and focused on four core concepts: Education & Youth Development, Historic Preservation, Health & Wellness and Arts & Culture.

From the United Way of the Coastal Empire to the Telfair Academy and Historic Savannah Foundation to the Georgia Historical Society, Junior Achievement and the Savannah Music Festival, the Critz family has supported numerous organizations over its many years in business. Over the last 11 years, The Critz Tybee Run Fest has donated over $560,000 to local organizations that foster education and healthy living in the Coastal Empire.
